does anyone know the history of the last name Germanovich.

My father comes from David-Gorodok, his name is Vasily and his father's name is Mikhail.

Have the Germanovichs lived in this region for a while, and what are the nationalistic roots (ex. from Russia, Jewish, etc.)?
